Cancel Helper

NullDaily

Step-by-step guides to cancel common subscriptions, or get them cheaper.

Cancel Helper

Step-by-step guides for cancelling common subscriptions, and for paying less if you'd rather keep them.

  • Guides: Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Spotify, Amazon Prime, Peacock, HBO Max, Paramount+, YouTube Premium, gym memberships, SiriusXM, Adobe Creative Cloud and The New York Times.
  • Better deals first: many services show a discount once you start cancelling. Each guide says what to look for and which cheaper plans exist.
  • Official links: each guide links to the service's own account or cancel page. Budvo may keep add-ons from opening new tabs, so the link can be copied instead.
  • Billed elsewhere: subscriptions bought through Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon or a phone company have to be cancelled there, and the guide says how.
  • Checkmarks: tick steps off and mark a service as done. They're saved in Budvo for your household.

Cancel Helper never sees your money or your subscriptions, never pledges to the jar and never talks to the internet.

Updating the guides

The guides live in app/guides.js: a JSON document assigned to window.CANCEL_GUIDES. (It's a script, not a .json file, because the add-on sandbox blocks fetch, even for files in the package.) Edit it, set reviewed, bump version in manifest.json, write notes and publish. Each guide has:

Field
idStable id; checkmarks are saved under it
name, category, colorHow it's listed
cancel_urlThe official account or cancel page, or null
stepsWhat to do, in order
offersRetention offers and cheaper plans to ask about before cancelling
good_to_knowAnything else, like refunds, bundles and third-party billing

Run it locally with npx budvo-addon dev . from this folder.
