The lottery idea, done honestly: a weekly prize-linked draw where you can't lose money, next to the real math on lottery tickets.

• Tickets: one free ticket every week; tickets from what goes into your jar anywhere in Budvo (one per $5, up to 5 a week) and from smashing it (2 a week), counted toward the week it happened while that week hasn't been drawn; and, optionally, one ticket per $1 you pledge to your own jar here (up to 10 a week and $10 a day; Budvo asks first in its own dialog, or the game does on older servers). You never need to pledge to play. On older Budvo servers without jar history, jar tickets come from the balance compared with your last visit.
• The draw: after a week ends, your next visit draws it and flips each ticket over. Each ticket is checked on its own against fixed odds, so nobody else's tickets matter. The draw is seeded by the week, the number of tickets and a code kept in this household's storage, so it comes out the same every time and shows its draw code.
• Prizes: pixel trophies (silver, gold, platinum) and your treat pass: a treat you choose up front ("a fancy coffee") for a gold or jackpot win. The treat pass is a note to yourself; Budvo doesn't pay for it.
• No prize: the dollar behind the ticket is still in your jar, which is the whole point.
• Real lottery math: what $2 a day on lottery tickets does over a year (about 50 cents back per dollar on average) next to $2 a day into your jar, a rough estimate of how much sooner your highest-rate debt would be paid off and how much interest you'd skip, and a note that some credit unions offer prize-linked savings accounts.

Nothing here moves money. A pledge only adds to the jar, and a smash never takes checking below your safety net.
