Pixel Zoo

NullDaily

A pixel zoo that grows with real progress: paid-off debts become enclosures.

Pixel Zoo

A zoo of pixel animals that grows with real progress. Nothing in the zoo can be bought: animals move in when Budvo shows that something good happened, and visiting or feeding them is always free.

  • Paid-off debts: each debt you pay off, including ones paid off before you opened the zoo, becomes an enclosure named after it and dated with the day it reached zero ("Quicksilver Habitat"), with an animal that fits the kind of debt: a tiger for a credit card, a penguin for buy now pay later, an elephant for a car loan, an owl for a student loan, a bear for a personal loan.
  • Goals: reach a savings goal and a flamingo moves into a lagoon named after it.
  • Jar smashes: an otter for your first smash, a golden otter at $500 smashed into debt.
  • Debt going down: a frog, rabbit, panda and golden pigeon at 1%, 10%, 25% and 50% down from the total the zoo first saw, and a golden panda when you're debt free.
  • No-spend days: a turtle at 7 clean days in Budvo's no-spend challenges (all time) and a golden turtle at 30. On older Budvo servers that don't report no-spend days, these count steady days instead: a day you stop by and your total debt hasn't gone up since your last visit.
  • Visit and feed: pick an animal to visit it, feed it once a day for free, and say hi as often as you like.
  • Treats (optional): $1 to $5, pledged to your jar. Budvo asks first in its own dialog (on older servers, or with that turned off, the zoo asks instead), and "Not now" is fine. At most $10 a day, or less if you lower it. Treats make an animal happy and never unlock anything.

Paid-off debts come from Budvo's list of them, with their dates, so a debt you delete never gets an enclosure. On older servers without that list, a debt that disappears is treated as paid off, and only from your first visit. The "debt going down" animals count from the total the zoo first saw.

Nothing here moves money. A pledge only adds to the jar, and a smash never takes checking below your safety net.
