A new Budvo: Money, Next steps and card benefits

Released

Docker image:git.ronniie.com/nulldaily/budvo:0.6.0

Budvo has a new layout built around one question: where does your money go. Today shows what's left to spend this week, Money shows every dollar from income to what's free, and Next steps tells you what to do about it.

Today and Money

  • Left to spend this week is the one number on Today, with payday, what's due and your debt-free date.
  • Money lays out the month: income, required bills and minimums, living costs with weekly targets suggested from your history, and what's free. Groups show spent against budgeted.
  • Next steps tells you what to do, in order: what to pay, what to move, what to cut in a short month. It never touches emergency-only accounts.
  • Free up money shows what paying off a debt, cancelling a subscription or lowering a bill frees each month.

Debts and cards

  • Cash flow first pays off the debts that free the most monthly payment per dollar, BNPL included. Build your own plan with exclusions, a lump sum or a target date.
  • Card benefits: rewards per card from Budvo's card catalog, which card to use for each category, and no rewards suggestions on a card that charges you interest.
  • A planned refinance is now a plan to compare, not your real numbers.

Also new

  • Calendar: a month list that follows the month you're on, balances going back months, and Balance over time.
  • Add to Apple Calendar with "$95.00 - T-Mobile" style events.
  • Delegate access: manage another household, like a parent's, with your own login.
  • Split transactions, rules, a review inbox and receipt photos.
  • IOUs, Reports (a monthly statement, debt payoff and trends) and Subscriptions per account.
  • AI assistants can connect to your server over MCP, with permissions you choose.
  • Languages: language packs, with French and Spanish drafts.
  • Forgot password? with your recovery key, from the sign-in page.
